Is themed Baby Furniture still relevant?
A few years ago, all the nurseries were filled with Baby Furniture created and decorated according to theme. Whether it be animal themed or one of the kid’s favorite television characters, everything was done accordingly. From the Baby Furniture, to the wallpaper and soft furnishings were to be covered in the same print or theme.
The question being asked today, is whether it is still appropriate or ‘in fashion’ to decorate the nursery in this way. Not only does the Kids Furniture rarely fit in with the rest of your home’s décor, but do the babies even know what that their nursery is themed with a certain character? As you start thinking about what the nursery should look like, bear in mind what would type of Baby Furniture suit the rest of your home and your lifestyle.
Baby Furniture today
The current trends in Baby Furniture seem to move towards neutral, earthy tones, with only a colour or two brought into the nursery with accessories and curtains. By using this method you can quickly change the look and feel of the nursery without having to replace all the Baby Furniture, where as a themed nursery will need total replacement as your baby becomes a toddler. Very few people can truly afford, or have the time to completely redo the room with new Baby Furniture, and is therefore forced to either leave the room as it is or create a miss-matched room no one would be satisfied with.
Â
The main problem of themed Baby Furniture is that it simply binds you to a set look, and doesn’t allow you to fluctuate on colours or styles. You can however purchase the main Baby Furniture pieces in neutral colours and styles, and perhaps still tie your nursery together with themed accessories that can be quickly changed according to your liking. You can still add removable decorations to the Baby Furniture, as long as none of the fixtures are permanent.
With the cost of Baby Furniture rising very steeply, it is important to purchase your Baby Furniture in a style that will last you a lifetime. Something that can later be converted into a toddler bed or some other furniture is another method of saving money in the long run. Just make sure that the Baby Furniture you want to purchase is of high quality, otherwise the multi-functionality would be of no use to you as the Baby Furniture would not last long enough.
